About Emma O'Malley: Your Hypnotherapist
My path here hasn't been a straight line, and I've come to believe that's exactly why it works.
It started with a BSc Honours degree from Canterbury Christ Church University in the UK, followed by a career teaching English as a Second Language, first at the University of Waikato, then at University of Canterbury. I loved that work. But when marriage and children came along, I needed a career that could bend around family life rather than the other way round. So I tutored privately, then discovered transcribing, a strange, quiet joy of a job that fit perfectly into those busy, wonderful years.
It was somewhere in the midst of all that juggling that I became fascinated by the mind. Why do some of us get stuck while others move forward with ease? Why do we carry beliefs we never actually chose, and how much lighter life feels once we let them go? I read everything I could get my hands on, and the more I learned, the more I saw how much was possible, for myself, and for the people I love, once those old mind blocks were understood and released.
That fascination became a calling, and I trained in hypnotherapy.
What I understand now is this: so much of what shapes our everyday experience runs on unconscious programming we never agreed to. The good news is that it can be rewritten. That's the work I do, helping people access that deeper layer of the mind and create change that actually lasts.
